About us
Lismore Sewing Centre is owned and operated Nicole Ansell. She took over the business in 2017 that was started by her step-dad in 1969. With over 50 years of experience servicing the Northern Rivers, there is no wonder why Lismore Sewing Centre has become a destination for purchasing and repairing sewing machines.

Lismore Sewing Centre is the main sewing machine repair option in the Northern Rivers, offering repairs on any brand and make of machine on the market. They also sell a huge range of machines and brands so there is something for everyone at any level in their sewing journey.

They have a deep passion for (and generations of experience) the machines that they sell and love being able to provide the best service in the region.

Doug Woodrow took over the Singer Sewing Centre in 1969 from the Singer Company. Florence then joined him in 1990 and together they developed the shop into one of the top dealerships in Australia.

Over time, the Singer Sewing Centre became the Lismore Sewing Centre and acquired the Pfaff, Janome and Husqvarna brands. This gave the shop the 4 main brands of machines sold in Australia.

Nicole, their daughter, worked for the shop for many years until she took over the ownership in 2017 with Luke Sharpe.

In April 2022, a record flood hit Lismore and decimated the shop. At this time, Luke parted ways and the shop is being run by Nicole. She is experienced with mechanical repairing, using and selling machines.

With over 85 years of experience between the family, there is very few issues that can’t be solved.
